Megaman x5 playthrough
Megaman x5 playthrough

Oh, and the rescuable reploids from X5 return, with one catch, the new enemies, called Nightmares, can turn these reploids into mavericks, and Nightmares are everywhere, plus, when a reploid goes Maverick, if you want him back, you have to re-load your save file and try again, this is just crap because one reploid owns an ability called Jumper, which lets you jump higher. The nightmare system is buggy, on the stage select screen, if a level is highlighted in red, it has the nightmare effect going on, but, plenty of times, the nightmare effect occurs when the level is NOT highlighted red and vice versa.īasically, what the nightmare system does is make levels more challenging than they normally would be, and you have a Zero/X nightmare following you. One thing that is different is the Nightmare system and the Z-Saber, yes, X gets to use the Z-Saber, but his use of it sucks as only Zero can do cool combos, and it still isn't fair when Zero can't charge his buster because his buster is overpowered. When you start playing, you will immediately notice that you don't get thrown into a character select screen, you must start the game with X and unlock Zero. This game doesn't really change the formula of X5 that much, which is a shame, but the platforming and the boom-bam-boom! is still fun. The gameplay is as you'd expect, JUMP 'N SHOOT, and dash and wall jump, and yes, being a MMX game, you find armor parts, fill up sub tanks, find hearts and so on. Oh yeah, and somehow Sigma didn't die at the end of X5. So, NO ZERO, YOU DID NOT HIDE YOURSELF AND TRIED TO REPAIR YOURSELF see this is what happens when you try to make a MegaMan game without the creator of MegaMan. In Sigma's Fortress in X1, Zero is blown in half and dies, in the ending of X5, Zero is a torso, AND he says that his energy is running out, and that his RAM was malfunctioning, AND said that he WAS "finally going to die." Supposedly, Zero does NOT have his DNA, Gate does, so how is Zero alive? When you find a hidden boss for the first time, it will be the Zero "Nightmare", cloned from Zero's DNA by Gate, once you defeat him, you happen to find the real Zero, Zero's explanation for his survival was "I hid myself while I tried to repair myself", hilariously bad dialogue aside, this is multiple plotholes in one EVENT.Įvery reploid has a DNA chip, Zero is technically not a reploid but a robot master, but he was converted into a reploid and thus given a DNA chip. So basically, the story is, the Earth survived the Eurasia space colony incident, but barely, the Earth is heavily damaged and so polluted that many reploids barely function.Īt the place of the colony's impact, a reploid scientist, named Gate, finds Zero's DNA chip and uses its powers to create powerful reploids and other such things to take over the world, if you played the game before, you will catch the plothole in this. This story has quite a few plotholes, let's just begin the story.Īs soon as you start the game, you are greeted with a gorgeous anime cutscene that summarizes (and spoils) the story of MegaMan X5, then at the towards the end of the video, you see X in the same scenario as the ending of X5 (though the background was changed since X6 changed a lot of things), but it says that this scenario happened 3 WEEKS after the end of X5, but in X5, it says 3 YEARS. The only problem is that 2 tracks are recycled from X5, complete copies, the Zero Nightmare theme (the battle them between Zero and X in X5) and Dynamo's theme (Dynamo can be found in the secret boss rooms, he is really just a way to farm Nightmare souls) The music is awesome, there's lots of memorable tracks with lots of kick (as to be expected from a MMX game) and has one of the best soundtracks of any MMX game. If X4 had 3D graphics, then maybe they would carry over to X5 and X6. Most of the graphics are okay for a sprite game, but they are outdated, even in the late 90's. Many of the sprites look okay, they do not fit the art style of the PSX era MMX games, most look like scrapped enemies and bosses from X3, and when you compare them with returning enemies from X4 and X5, the art style is different, so they just look out of place.

The graphics look good, but the problem is, they are sprites, Capcom really couldn't get into the times until X7, this game should've had 3D graphics, a sidescroller or not. I do not agree with all the hate this game gets, I see why people hate it, but the game is still fun and has a great nostalgic feel.įirst, I want to talk about the presentation: MegaMan X6, described by many as one of the worst MegaMan X games, described as worse than X7 in some places, and in some places, it is considered the worst MegaMan game of all time.
